org to be considered for this position Summary The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of routine skilled and semiskilled labor tasks in the construction, maintenance, operation, repair and replacement of Village streets, roadways, water distribution systems, storm-water systems, wastewater collection systems, right of ways, parkways, public grounds and/or other infrastructure.
This is a union position, covered by SEIU 73.
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:
00am-3:
00pm.
Additionally, the employee must be the have ability to work overtime and respond to after-hour and weekend emergency calls on a rotating basis.

Qualifications The position requires a high school diploma or G.

and 3-5 years of experience in construction or maintenance is strongly preferred.
A valid State of Illinois Class A Commercial Driver's License is also required upon hire, or within 6 months of hire date.
Special Requirements The candidate must be able to carry, lift, push, pull or drag objects up to 50 pounds and on a frequent and/or continuous basis, and occasionally carry, lift, push, pull or drag objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Candidates must have the ability to respond to emergency after hour call-outs, including on holidays and weekends, and participate in a stand-by rotation.
Candidates must demonstrate appropriate and effective communication skills, and the ability to carry out all tasks in a safe and professional manner.
